Awesome Martin! I especially love the feel of the tree branch and the possum.

Wow another nice one. The treebranch is very good, lovely work on the needles. And the interaction is really cool, despite their size-difference they do apear to be on the same level.

Hey Martin,

Awesome designs! I really dig the new theme of chatting animals. As mentioned numerous times before, you really have a great sense of story-telling.
I'm still on the job search, but have only send out a few portfolios so far. I keep wanting to change and add stuff, but I'm sure you know all about that!;)I have a vacation coming up, but after that I'm going full force, cause I really need to move on.

I wish you all the best and good luck, but am still convinced you won't have a hard time finding something really cool.

Take care,

Hans

Greetings from South East Asia! I stumbled across your blog from Marcelo Vignali's blog. I -love- the ghost series - always loved drawing things a'la Japanese woodblock and ukiyo-e, and those are just absolutely wonderful. Am looking forward to reading more and seeing more!

(And hopefully you don't mind if I add you to the bloglist I read constantly for inspiration?)

LOL! You capture expression so well I almost miss how incredible the actaul drawing is!

How about this for an idea: Take all these drawings and use them for a Children's Book. The theme could be that old game where you tell someone something and little by little the words change along with the meaning and it becomes something else entirely!

Basically, these illustrations need to see print, Martin! get on it!!

I really like this piece Martin, from the contour of the tree branch, to the looseness of the fur on the possum down to the expression on the bug. great work my man!!

Dave Dick said...

I love your linework! The possum's little hands and feet are perfect :D

Marcelo Vignali said...

Ooh, this is very nice, and great choice of color too.

Martin Hsu said...

SWEET! Another strong piece :) Is the possum trying to convince the bug to take a stroll down to his stomach? hehe.

Wwhoww it look amazing my friend...a bit different style from your other art work but still great... :)
I would try to add an high contrast light under the bug belly (to the top right side), since he is the focus point of the picture , it will give the same 3D feeling you receive to the rocks too...what do you think? Just a bit casting light.
