There is so much that has happened in the past few months. I moved to LA, and I am now working on a new show called Clarence for Cartoon Network! I love it out here, especially the great weather! I will be updating this old blog very soon, but I wanted to help get the word out about a great project that needs your help on kickstarter. Please check it out and contribute! Many of you probably already know Cedric Honstadt ( cedricstudio.com), if not then check out his work too! He's a great artist and always has inspiring work to show! The kickstarter project ends Aug 22....So hurry!:)

Happy Holidays Everyone!
It has been a busy year. I have severely neglected my blog. I am sorry for this. Teaching, freelancing and being a dad has really been fun and exhausting all at the same time. I hope that this new year offers me some more personal time to spend on my art. In any case, thanks for visiting ( for those of you who still visit;) And I promise to put up some more work soon. Have a great Holiday and New Year to all of you! Here is a little zbrush character. Nothing too amazing, but I am making an effort this year to learn this software and create some better 3-d models.

My new Blog
Hey guys. I have created a new blog @ http://animalandlifedrawing.blogspot.com/ I am still keeping this blog, but I am going to make this one strictly for designs, illustrations and paintings. The animal life drawing blog will have tutorials, animal and figure drawing, anatomy studies etc. The reason for this, is because I am going to be posting a lot more, and I feel that this will better organize my thoughts and processes.

Deer Sketches --Finally New Art RIGHT???!!
I am finally getting back into my own artwork again. I was so busy these past few months, but now I finally have some free time to just draw. So, I decided to do some warm up animal sketches. I did these last night while watching an animal video which had some deer in it. I really wanted to push the poses a bit, and as I progressed, the drawings took on a more simplified / sleeker look. It was a fun doing these, and I will be posting more art this week. Thanks for all the nice comments on the baby too! We found out that its a boy, and we are really excited :)

Power Lines
I have been wanting to do some painting for awhile now. I don't think that I am very good at it, but it is certainly something that I want to become better at. This is probably one of the first paintings that I have done in a long time! And, I am sure that it shows. But, I think that it turned out ok for my first one. I will be doing more of these for sure!:)

Totoro Project!
Well, I know that it's not exactly new news, but this is the announcement that I have been looking forward to making for some time! The website is finally complete, and I must say that it is truly an honor to be among this group of amazing artists!
What is the Totoro project? Well, briefly, it is a charity exhibition that will feature the works of some of the top talents in the industry. All of the works will be on display at Pixar studios, and later auctioned off. The proceeds for the event will go to the " Totoro Project Fund." This fund was established by the famed Oscar winning film director Hayao Miyazaki ,and was created to help save the Sayama Forest in Japan.
A book is being compiled of all of the artwork , and a select 60 pieces are going to be shown at the Cartoon Art Museum of San Francisco! This is truly an amazing event, and I am so proud to be a part of it. I would like to say thank you to Dice Tsutsumi for putting this whole show together!Dice is an incredibly talented artist, and we have been friends for many years. Also, a big thank you to the entire Totoro committee, and everyone else involved for making this happen, and for such a great cause! If you would like to check out the site, and all of the artwork just click on the Totoro picture above. Also, PLEASE donate! This is the most important thing!!!

Wow, it's been awhile since my last post. My wife and I have been busily searching for our new place. We finally found a house in Stratford CT, and we are really excited to move in. Our scheduled move date is set for May 1st, so it's going to be hectic the next month or so. As for the sketch above, I had this idea of putting two unlikely characters in an illustration...it just turned out to be a dingy pirate and a cute little girl. lol

PeeU!
I am sorry for my long absence. My wife was recently accepted into a medical residency program in a neighboring state, and as a result, we need to move. So the past few weeks I have been busy getting my apartment ready to sell, and we will soon begin looking around CT for a new place. Anyway, things are somewhat back to normal now, and I am trying to get back to my work. thanks for all the kind comments, and I promise that I will post more work soon!:))
