This and a few other things have kept me away from my blog. I will try to get something up this week, even if its just a sketch. So please check back!:)

The Totoro Project was a success!!

Wow!!!!! That's all I can say about the Totoro show. I am back from my amazing trip to San Francisco, and I had an AWESOME TIME!! The show turned out to be a complete success. All of the 205 pieces sold, and I was told that they raised an estimated 200,000 dollars!! On top of all of that, the book is incredible. If you still want a copy, I believe that they are still being sold on their website, so get one before they are gone!! I was also thrilled to meet a lot of my favorite artists at the show from all over the world. I suppose I looked like a fan boy running around and talking to everyone, but who could resist the opportunity?!! It was a once in a lifetime event!! Thank you all for supporting the show, and it was really great to see many of you there. ----"It is not just about one specific forest. Power Lines
I have been wanting to do some painting for awhile now. I don't think that I am very good at it, but it is certainly something that I want to become better at. This is probably one of the first paintings that I have done in a long time! And, I am sure that it shows. But, I think that it turned out ok for my first one. I will be doing more of these for sure!:)

Totoro Project!
Well, I know that it's not exactly new news, but this is the announcement that I have been looking forward to making for some time! The website is finally complete, and I must say that it is truly an honor to be among this group of amazing artists! What is the Totoro project? Well, briefly, it is a charity exhibition that will feature the works of some of the top talents in the industry. All of the works will be on display at Pixar studios, and later auctioned off. The proceeds for the event will go to the " Totoro Project Fund." This fund was established by the famed Oscar winning film director Hayao Miyazaki ,and was created to help save the Sayama Forest in Japan.
A book is being compiled of all of the artwork , and a select 60 pieces are going to be shown at the Cartoon Art Museum of San Francisco! This is truly an amazing event, and I am so proud to be a part of it. I would like to say thank you to Dice Tsutsumi for putting this whole show together!Dice is an incredibly talented artist, and we have been friends for many years. Also, a big thank you to the entire Totoro committee, and everyone else involved for making this happen, and for such a great cause! If you would like to check out the site, and all of the artwork just click on the Totoro picture above. Also, PLEASE donate! This is the most important thing!!!

Wow, it's been awhile since my last post. My wife and I have been busily searching for our new place. We finally found a house in Stratford CT, and we are really excited to move in. Our scheduled move date is set for May 1st, so it's going to be hectic the next month or so. As for the sketch above, I had this idea of putting two unlikely characters in an illustration...it just turned out to be a dingy pirate and a cute little girl. lol

PeeU!
I am sorry for my long absence. My wife was recently accepted into a medical residency program in a neighboring state, and as a result, we need to move. So the past few weeks I have been busy getting my apartment ready to sell, and we will soon begin looking around CT for a new place. Anyway, things are somewhat back to normal now, and I am trying to get back to my work. thanks for all the kind comments, and I promise that I will post more work soon!:))

While I was in Moscow, my wife and I met up with Andrei Riabovitchev( on the right) at his animation studio. Andrei is an amazing artist, and I was blown away by both his and his coworkers absolutely beautiful work. Andrei, thanks again for your generous hospitality! It was an awesome opportunity that I wont soon forget!:)
I Am Back!

Well, I am finally back from my Greece/ Russia trip. I had an AWESOME time!!! Greece was just plain beautiful, and Russia was exciting as well. I did a lot of sketching as you can imagine, but I also took plenty of time to just relax. This is going to be a really crazy month for me, so I am glad to feel rested and ready to tackle the work ahead. I will be posting more sketches, once I get the opportunity to scan them in....Here are a few that I put together. These were done on the beach.
